ADAPTATIONS                      by The Publisher

In business, I’ve been noticing how the trend of ADVERTISING, getting Info out there, is changing.  Some have closed down completely, because they can’t afford to KEEP THEIR BRAND VISABLE …BUT some have adapted.

We over here at W-GATAP, have all ways, since birth, been down with the roll.  In other words we roll with the punches. If you are given Lemons… make something wonderful with the Lemons…etc., etc.

Even the TV Shows are turning to Adaptation.  Look at the Food Shows, such as “CHOPPED”.  You receive something and you have to create something:  Pretty to look at (using your senses of SIGHT).  Use everything that was given to you (Using your sense of THOUGHTHOW, you’re going to USE it, WHERE, you’re going to place it AND, most of all, seeing YOURSELF a WINNER!

You can take the simple principal of THESE statements, and apply them to ANY SITUATION.

Let’s take a look see:

#1. The situation was presented to YOU.  After you signed up for this, let’s say, THING called LIFE. NOW I could go deep with this… BUT I WON’T! …….. YES I WILL :0)

LIFE started long before we got here.  We took our first breath… AND THAT started it for us.  BUT… we were living by our own self, in the form of an EGG… within the protective WOMB of our Mother.  Just waiting for the ENTER-ring of the SPERM… OK, OK that’s enough of that.

#2. You have had a choice. MAJOR DOWNER: Death can be a choice.  We chose to LIVE or we chose to let go and DIE… CHOISES.  Just like on the cooking show “CHOPPED” they make their choices. BUT ONLY ONE is left standing… AFTER JUDGEMENT.  What do we have as our enemy here?  TIME!  If left to their own devises, each and every one of them would be a WINNER… BUT….. There’s that thing called…TIME.

We all have to deal with TIME.  Given time, Adaptation will surely come.  We just have to TAKE THE TIME… to wait.  Now, with that statement in mind… could we truthfully say… that TIME, is the Ruler in this, REALM of life? We have a TIME to do ALL THINGS… uh?

#3. You own your decisions.  But, don’t let them beat you up.  Just because you took a chance.  STANDING OVATION … to YOU and YOUR BRAVERY! Choosing to use…ADAPTATION instead of jumping up and running away, is an ADMIRAL Job.

Be willing to wait on and apply the vision of ADAPTATION, to YOUR situation.

Ask Eve

Dear Eve,

I have found the one and only man of my dreams.  My problem is I want to throw the net out there, you know, put it where it should be. Show myself… and let him know I’m WHERE IT’s  AT.”

Question:  Should I or shouldn’t I?

Signed:  On the MARK… SET, READY…?

WELL, Dear Sis. On the Mark!

First of all, according to your letter (And ya’ll are just going to have to take my word for it), your letter does not say anything about you doing your investigative JOB.  All you talk about is the outward appearances.  HONEY, like Steve Harvey says… give it sometime BEFORE you blow ALLLLL your ammo, on a catch, which after time… will show MORE than it’s showing now.

If you just have to… DEAL out YOUR ‘punishment’ in its proper amount and in its proper time.  Don’t go opening up all your Womanly ways to a fellow you don’t even know.  Take your time. We reap what we sow… and it looks like you’re on a SOWING Campaign.

If you have a question that you would like answered in a COMMON Sense way… Write to ASK EVE, P. O. Box 8601, Ft. Worth, TX  76124

The Skinny on Healthy Hair

By: Kaye Flewellen, The Hair Maven

As a tenured stylist in the hair care industry, I am often asked, What are your favorite hairstyles or trends for the season? As simple as that may sound, thats a difficult question for me. Why? Because I love hair.  Every time I start to answer, my adrenaline is slightly elevated. Im instantly bombarded with images of ALL the current hair trends and I think: I like hair long, medium, or short. I like textured hair and curly hair; I also like it straight. Hair can be red, brunette, blonde, or somewhere in between. I like a dazzling, ornate up-do as much as a clean side-swept ponytail. From the artistic and visually stimulating value of cornrows, to the awe inspiring afro or a classic bob; the list goes on and on. I love hair!

Many factors should be considered when determining what makes a style work. But with every hairstyle there is one thing that should always remain consistent - healthy hair! The most universal trend and fashion accessory is a healthy head of hair. So, the question is: What is healthy hair? And, how does one obtain it?

Healthy hair is strong, elastic, and resistant to breakage.  Healthy hair is also soft, silky to the touch with lots of bounce and shine. Did you know that a healthy strand of human hair is stronger than a strand of copper the same width? A dry strand of healthy hair should be able to stretch 15 to 20% of its length without breaking; a wet strand should stretch about 50%.   By contrast, damaged hair has a rough texture; is dull, dry, and brittle to the touch. It also breaks easily, and is spongy.

The ultimate goal is always healthy hair. Yet with every product on the shelf promising to deliver healthy hair and claiming to be the cure all, where does one begin? There are three influencing components to healthy hair:

1. Diet. Healthy hair always begins with a healthy diet. Because hair is nourished through the blood, it is important to incorporate into your diet hair healthy foods such as salmon, leafy green vegetables, and fresh fruit. Drinking plenty of water is also important because water encourages blood flow and helps with maintaining an optimal moisture balance in the hair and skin. Water hydrates the body, which includes the hair and scalp and creates a healthy environment for growth.

2.  Quality products. Any product promising dramatic hair growth is pulling your leg. Hair grows about ½ inch month, and products can be used to both sustain the growth and protect against environmental factors. Although a lot of revolutionary products are out there on the market, it is important to use products that are specific to your hair care needs. Even a good product can be detrimental if not properly used.

3. Routine Maintenance. Like most things in life, hair requires tender loving care and gentle treatment to maintain its luster. Make sure to:

Shampoo and condition often. Dirty hair is three times more likely to burn. Once you shampoo your hair, seal it with conditioner to lock in the moisture.

Protect your hair. Heated tools deliver great looks, but they can also burn hair. Before using your flat irons or curling irons, apply a styling product with heat protectant.

Trim regularly. The ends of your hair split as they age. Get a trim on average of 8-10 weeks, and wait about the same amount of time for chemical services.

The conditioning treatments and products available today can help restore damaged hair. Even so, an ounce of prevention beats a pound of cure!
